Is Keyda free?
Yes — the iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android apps and the Chrome extension are all free to install. Bringing your own API key (BYOK) is free on every Keyda account, with no plan, no trial and no card required. The paid Lite and Pro plans are optional: they add the Keyda AI cloud pool so you never have to manage a key yourself.
Which devices does Keyda run on?
iPhone and iPad on iOS and iPadOS, Mac on macOS 13 Ventura or later (Apple silicon and Intel), and Android 8.0 or later. There is also a Chrome extension that adds grammar fixes anywhere you type on the web. One account signs in everywhere and your notes, documents and AI sessions sync between them.
Do I need a subscription to use the AI features?
No. You can paste your own key from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Groq or xAI and use Keyda's AI free, billed by that provider at their rates. If you would rather not manage a key, Lite includes 200 cloud AI requests a day and Pro includes 1,000 requests and 500,000 tokens a day, both resetting at 00:00 IST.
Does Keyda work offline?
Yes. Lite and Pro include on-device models that generate text on your phone — once downloaded they need no network to run, cost no tokens and have no rate limit (Assistant chats made with them are still saved to your account). Typing, themes, snippets, clipboard, notes, smart dates and maths all work without a connection too. Voice typing works offline, though recognition is noticeably more accurate online.
Can I type in Hindi or Hinglish?
Yes. Hindi transliteration lets you type phonetically in English letters — "namaste" becomes "नमस्ते" as you go — with smart English/Hindi mixing so your English words are left alone. Autocorrect is Hinglish-aware too, so everyday romanized words like "bhai", "kya" and "nahi" are no longer corrected into the wrong English word. If you would rather type in the script itself, turn on the Devanagari keyboard (हिन्दी / मराठी) and switch with the language key. All of this works on iPhone, iPad and Android.
